GERALD R. FORD MUSEUM
VIRIDIS Design Group was the Landscape Architect in a collaborative process with the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum and Fishbeck Architects and Engineers for a new Learning Center addition and main entry sequence for the museum. The LEED Silver project transformed a traditional turf grass landscape and irrigation system into a native and drought resistant garden with a high efficiency drip irrigation system. This low-impact landscape treatment eliminated mechanical mowing, required less irrigation, fertilizer, and pest control and increased the site’s bio-diversity and ability to naturally capture, treat, and infiltrate storm water run-off through bio-infiltration.
